CORTLAND, N.Y. (WHCU) – Cortland Police are trying to identify suspects in a scam investigation.

Authorities say the two pictured men visited several Family Dollar stores in the Cortland area on August 11 and swindled the clerks out of several hundred dollars and merchandise while trying to load a cash card. In one instance the men were reportedly able to reach over the counter and open the cash drawer.

The pair are thought to be operating a dark red or burgundy Jeep Grand Cherokee. Anyone with info is asked to contact the Cortland Police Department.
