ITHACA, NY (WHCU) — Hot and humid weather is returning to the Finger Lakes.

A heat advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service, which warns that a heat index between 95 to 100 is likely for the next few days. Several cooling centers are available in Tompkins County, including the Shops at Ithaca Mall, Groton Public Library, and TC3.

Forecasters say the heat should leave the Southern Tier at the end of the week.
