ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The mayor of Ithaca’s salary is getting reduced in 2024.

Starting January 1, the mayor’s pay gets cut in half to $30,000 while members of the Common Council will see their pay increase by almost $4,000 for a salary of slightly over $17,000.

Last week, the Common Council agreed to the changes as part of the transition to a city manager-led government in Ithaca early next year.
