ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Four local elections in Tompkins County will require a recount.

The Ithaca Voice reports margins in three Common Council races and also the Danby Town Clerk are thin. The Tompkins County Board of Elections released certified results on Thursday from last month’s Democratic primaries.

In Ward Three, six votes separate David Shapiro and Nate Sitaraman for a four-team term. Both races in the Fifth Ward are similarly tight — for a two-year term, Clyde Lederman currently leads Jason Houghton by ten votes, while there’s a six-vote difference between Margaret Fabrizio and Michelle Song, who are seeking a four-year term in Ward Five.

For Danby Town Clerk, there’s also a difference of six votes between the two Democratic contenders. Thursday’s final tally shows 37 votes for Janice Adelman and 43 for Mariah Dillon.

A hand-by-hand recount is set for next week.
