Marathon teacher awarded for agriculture education

MARATHON, N.Y. (WHCU) — A teacher in Marathon has received a state award.

The New York Association of Agricultural Educators named Crystal Aukema the 2023 Outstanding Teacher earlier this summer.

Aukema, who is the agricultural educator in the Marathon Central School District, started the districtwide ag program in 2016.
