MARATHON, N.Y. (WHCU) — Changes are coming to the Marathon Fire Department.

Chief Norm Forrest is stepping down after nine years. In a Facebook post, he said it’s time for new leadership. Garrett Gates will serve as chief in 2024.

In related news, firefighters in Cortland responded to a blaze on Saturday.
