Newfield man sentenced in Schuyler County burglary case

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WHCU) – A Tompkins County man could spend up to 5 years behind bars.

According to the Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office, 35-year-old Roy Searles, of Newfield, pled guilty to felony burglary in county court on Thursday, October 19. The charge stems from a series of storage unit break-ins and thefts that occurred in Schuyler County. Searles was sentenced to 2.5 to 5 years in state prison and ordered to pay $500 in restitution.
