Newfield schools’ doing better fiscally, superintendent says

NEWFIELD, N.Y. (WHCU) — A Tompkins County school district’s fiscal health has improved.

Eric Hartz is the superintendent of the Newfield Central School District. He credits a federal grant for helping them dig out of a deep hole.

In 2022, the Newfield Central School District was listed by the state Comptroller’s office as a district in fiscal distress.
