ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Soaring temperatures and rising humidity means…be careful.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory today for the Southern Tier. High temps will reach the mid-90s, with a heat index of 99. Forecasters are also warning about heat illnesses if you stay outside too long.

The advisory will be in effect from noon to nine o’clock tonight.
