ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — The Tompkins County Public Library will close temporarily next month.

Updates are being made to the building’s HVAC system, so the library will close beginning September 15. According to library leaders, the HVAC project will make the facility greener and more efficient with updated controls, chillers, and boilers. They seek to lower their carbon footprint.

The Tompkins County Public Library plans to re-open on October 3.
