ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – Tompkins County residents are invited to test new voting machines this week.

The Board of Elections is considering machines from three state certified companies to use in future elections and is looking for the public’s feedback. All vendors will hold testing and info sessions in the Tompkins County Legislative Chambers located on the second floor at 121 East Court Street in Ithaca. Attendees will test each machine by submitting sample ballots.

You can test the first vendor, Clear Ballot, on Tuesday, July 11, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The second vendor, Hart Intercivic, will be there on Thursday, July 13, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The third vendor, Dominion Voting Systems, will hold a session later this month on July 26, 2023, also from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The selected vendor will provide voting machines for elections starting in 2024.
