LANSING, N.Y. (WHCU) — Several parks in Tompkins County will see improvements.

The county is awarding grants of $5,000 for various recreational projects. They include setting up Wi-Fi at Newfield Community Park, paving a basketball court at the Enfield Community Center, and purchasing playground equipment in Lansing. Funding is also going to recreational spots in Freeville, Danby, Trumansburg, Cayuga Heights, and Dryden.

Officials hope the projects will raise the number of visitors at each location.
