ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Target is recalling baby wipes sold in stores and on its website.

FDA officials say certain batches of Up & Up fragrance-free and fresh cucumber-scented baby wipes may contain bacteria that can cause serious infections.

The bacteria, identified as Burkholderia cepacia and Burkholderia gladioli, are especially dangerous to infants, young children, and people with weakened immune systems.

Both Target and the product manufacturer, Sapro Temizlik Urunleri, have received complaints of adverse events potentially associated with product use. Consumers are advised to immediately discontinue use and return them to any Target store for a refund.
