Barton bridge sees temporary 16-ton limit

BARTON, NY (607NewsNow) — Tioga County is making a change to bridge weight.

The Reniff Road bridge in Barton has been down posted to a 16-ton weight limit until maintenance is performed. Public Works Commissioner Gary Hammond tells 607 News Now crews will take a look Monday and install a metal plate “to see if that works.” Hammonds says there was no previous weight limit on the bridge,

The temporary change became official on Thursday, Oct. 2.
