Cantelmo, NYS tout decrease in Ithaca gun violence

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Shootings are happening less in Ithaca.

Mayor Robert Cantelmo credits the city’s collaboration with Tompkins County and participation in New York’s Gun Involved Violence Elimination (G.I.V.E.) initiative.

Cantelmo says there’s been a noticeable change.

The state has taken notice.

Tompkins County and Ithaca joined the GIVE program in 2023.
