CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Cortland County is welcoming two new department heads.

The Cortland County Legislature named Madlyn Allen as Cortland County Personnel Officer and Allison Veintimilla as Cortland County Commissioner of Social Services on Thursday, May 28.

Allen comes from the City of Ithaca’s Human Resources department and will oversee personnel and civil service functions, including recruitment and examinations. Veintimilla is being promoted within Cortland County’s Department of Social Services, where she currently serves as Deputy Commissioner.

The changes follow the recent appointment of Matthew Deno as Cortland County Probation Director.

“These appointments represent important leadership transitions for Cortland County,” Legislative Chair Kevin Fitch said. “Madlyn and Allison bring strong experiences and a clear understanding of the importance of public service to their new roles. We are also pleased to recognize Matt Deno, who has already stepped into this leadership role in the Probation Department and is doing an excellent job serving Cortland County.”

Allen will begin on June 22, and Veintimilla’s appointment starts on June 27.
