Workforce Development previously announced it would move into the Cortland County Office Building while the Career Center prepares to move to its new permanent location. Due to staffing, all workforce development services will be available by appointment only.

County staff will also provide in-person assistance to job seekers at various partner locations throughout the community. Information is available on the Cortland Works website.

Appointments can be made via email at cwcc@cortlandcountyny.gov, or by calling (607) 756-7585. Callers are advised to press “0” to leave a message for Cortland County Workforce Development staff.

Additionally, New York State Department of Labor re-employment services staff will not be available on-site until the Career Center opens in its new location.

The state’s unemployment insurance system will temporarily close on Nov. 2 at 5 p.m. for system upgrades. The upgrade is expected to take 9 to 12 days, during which unemployment insurance payments may be delayed, and no new unemployment claims can be filed.
