CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – The Cortland Police Department is thanking a local business.

New York Bagel recently held a basket raffle in support of the department’s K-9 program.

On April 22, Officer Kristyn Drake and K-9 Kort personally stopped by the Main Street shop to pick up the donation. In a Facebook post, Cortland PD thanked owner Sandro Mironti, NY Bagel staff, and everyone who purchased raffle tickets.

The Cortland Police Department has been trying to raise money to support the program after losing K-9 Max earlier this year to a terminal illness.

Officer Drake is the first female K-9 handler in the department’s history.
