Cortland, Preble receive CDBG housing rehabilitation funding

CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Housing improvement money is headed to Cortland County.

The City of Cortland has been awarded $750,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding.

The money will be used to help owner-or renter-occupied homes with rehabilitation costs, covering anything from drinking water and sanitary sewer projects to home repairs, and more. You can read more about New York State’s Homes and Community Renewal CDBG program here.

The Town of Preble is also receiving $600,000 through the program.

It’s part of over $4.4 million in housing assistance funding heading to 67 homes in Central New York through seven programs.
