CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — A newly vacant position in the city of Cortland is being filled.

The Common Council votes tomorrow, Jan. 20 on appointing a new finance director. Elizabeth Greenwood was hired last summer for that job in the Crown City. Officials are not talking publicly about her departure, but Mayor Scott Steve recently told us about some errors discovered in the 2026 budget following its Dec. 2025 adoption.

The Common Council meeting starts at 6 p.m at Cortland City Hall on Court St.
