CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Staff at Greek Peak are airing out a lodge.

The Virgil Fire Department was called just before 2 a.m. Saturday, June 27 to the Hope Lake Lodge after a fire alarm went off. Staff told firefighters something was burning on the 5th floor.

“The first officer on scene located the source of the smoke in room 521A which was caused by cushions from a sofa that had been placed on the glass of the fireplace in the room which was on. The cushions were quickly removed from the building,” officials said.

The cause was ruled accidental. No injuries were reported.
