ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Operators of Asteri Ithaca are being sued.

The lawsuit was filed by the Downtown Ithaca Local Development Corporation, which oversees the conference center in the E. Green St. building. Suzanne Smith Jablonski is executive director, and she tells 607 News Now the lawsuit is ‘necessary.’

Jablonski says the Vecino Group was contractually obligated to provide security at the building, which opened a year and a half ago.

Since its 2024 opening, the Ithaca Police and Fire departments have been called to the building dozens of times. The lawsuit was filed in 2025.
