ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A product sold at Walmart is being recalled.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Mainstays brand 9-drawer fabric dressers violate safety standards required by the Sturdy Act.

CPSC officials say the furniture poses tip-over and entrapment hazards if not properly anchored to a wall, which could result in serious injuries or death to children. The affected product has a black metal frame and nine black or brown fabric drawers with handles. The dressers measure roughly 40 inches long, 13.75 inches wide, and 45 inches tall.

Around 165,000 were sold between September 2023 and March of this year on Walmart.com and in Walmart stores nationwide.

Consumers are asked to immediately stop using the dressers if they aren’t anchored to a wall and contact Walmart for a full refund.
