DRYDEN, NY (607NewsNow) – A former soccer standout at Dryden High School is now a collegiate head coach.

On January 8, Le Moyne announced that Taylor Van Fleet will lead the women’s soccer program.

Van Fleet, whose maiden name is Bennett, starred during her time at Dryden. She graduated in 2016 and was named the NYS Class B Player of the Year in her senior season. Additionally, she was recently elected to New York State’s High School Girls Soccer Hall of Fame.

After high school, Van Fleet went to Syracuse University, where she was a four-year starter. She went on to play professionally in Iceland.

Van Fleet has spent the last four years as an assistant coach at Binghamton University.  Head Coach Neel Bhattacharjee says she played an instrumental role in the team’s consistent success during her time with the Bearcats.
