First winter storm of season drops several inches of snow

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Southern Tier is digging out of snow this morning.

According to the National Weather Service, the heaviest amounts of snow that blanketed the region Tuesday totaled 7 inches in Dryden in Tompkins County, Solon in Cortland County, and Newark Valley in Tioga County. In nearby Cayuga County, slightly over 5 inches of snow were recorded.

Winter weather advisories were lifted last evening.
