ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – A laptop has been returned to its owner, and an Ithaca man faces charges.

Authorities were called to Cook Street around 10:30 p.m. Monday for a report of a burglary that had just occurred. The victim told officers their laptop had been stolen but had GPS on it. That led Ithaca Police to the 300 block of East State Street where they located suspect Larry Payne Jr., who allegedly had the computer. He was taken into custody without incident.

According to IPD, Payne is charged with felony burglary and “other New York State Penal Law Offenses.” He’s being held in Tompkins County Jail without bail.

The Ithaca Police Department is asking anyone with “information regarding this matter” to contact them.
