ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Community members are raising money to honor a fallen Ithacan.

Colden Kimber’s family friends would like to install a memorial bench at Stewart Park.

The 28-year-old was killed on July 26 while trying to protect others at a bus stop in the San Francisco suburb of Ingelside. The suspect, 29-year-old Sean Collins, was arrested soon after. He is charged with murder.

In a Facebook post, the Friends of Stewart Park says Kimber grew up playing with his friends in Stewart Park.
