Heat advisory issued for Ithaca area

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Are you ready to roast?

A heat advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service across the Ithaca area starting at noon today until 8 p.m. tonight. Heat index values of 95 to 100 are expected. 

“The hottest conditions will be in urban valley areas, where heat index values will climb above 95 degrees this afternoon. Showers and thunderstorms could provide relief from the heat during the late afternoon and evening,” the NWS stated.

The heat and humidity are sticking around for one more day before conditions cool this weekend.
