Inmate boarding contract sees approval in Tompkins County

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is receiving assistance from a neighboring county.

On March 3, the Tompkins County Legislature unanimously approved a resolution that lets Seneca County provide inmate boarding services. Tompkins County will pay Seneca County $110 per day per inmate.

The deal runs through 2029. According to the resolution, Seneca County has already agreed and signed the agreement.
