ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – Some students may receive money from Ithaca College.

According to WENY-TV, the school could settle a class action lawsuit filed by a student who claims IC was in breach of its contract when it switched to remote learning in the spring of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Students enrolled in that semester are eligible for a payout if the $1.5 settlement is approved at a court hearing in October. Additionally, students can get an $800 tuition credit for Ithaca College graduate school and a complimentary ticket to Alumni Weekend.

Ithaca College is one of over 70 schools that have faced similar lawsuits, including Cornell, which settled in 2023.
