ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Ithaca Police Department is attracting prospective officers.

During a meeting on Sept. 24, Chief Tom Kelly said online recruitment has been effective.

“We do a lot on social media, a lot of messaging, and it shows in our interviews,” he said.

Kelly said 70 people signed up for the department’s fall exam. The test took place on Sept. 20.
