ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Part of an Ithaca building has collapsed.

“Due to the partial collapse of a building facade on the 100 block of North Geneva Street, the block will be closed between West State St. and West Seneca St. until further notice. Motorists and pedestrians should detour via alternate routes while the Ithaca Fire Department maintains the road closure,” the city said. It happened around 4 p.m. Wednesday

The Ithaca Voice reports owners of the building say they noticed instability in the façade and hired a contractor, with repairs scheduled for yesterday until it was rescheduled. City inspectors do not believe the damage is structural, but a full inspection is planned.

There were no reported injuries.
