ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Enrollment in the Ithaca City School District is falling.

Board of Education President Dr. Sean Bradwell tells 607 News Now data presented to board members at a meeting on Jan. 13 showed a troubling trend, but adds they aren’t doing anything drastic.

It’s not a problem isolated to ICSD; Bradwell said districts across New York have also seen a similar fall in K-12 enrollment, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic. Even with the data presented, Bradwell says they’re treading cautiously.

Bradwell adds the district seeks out data about demographics every five to 10 years.
