ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Ithacans can kick their Christmas trees to the curb.

The city’s annual curbside tree pickup begins Monday, Jan. 5. You must remove all ornaments, lights, and stands before placing them by the road. Trash and yard waste tags are not necessary. The trees will be chipped and turned into mulch.

Pickup ends on Jan. 31.

You can also dispose of your tree at the Tompkins County Recycling and Solid Waste Center through the end of the month.
