Lansing community mourns loss of school counselor

LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) – The Lansing school community is mourning the loss of one of its own.

On February 11, Middle School Counselor Tanya Thompson passed away, Superintendent Chris Pettograsso announced on Facebook.

Thompson served as Southern Cayuga’s school counselor for 17 years before joining the Lansing Central School District 8 years ago. Pettograsso says Thompson was “a colleague, a friend, and a source of light.”
