CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) — Cortland County is looking at a massive deficit next year. 

Minority Leader Beau Harbin tells 607 News Now a combination of state mandates and federal government uncertainty is painting a bleak picture. 

Harbin cites 3 primary reasons for the projected $10 million deficit, which include rising healthcare costs and employee salaries. He believes the budget shortfall will be lowered over the next couple months ahead of a budget vote prior to the end of this year.
