MARATHON, NY (607NewsNow) — Leaders in Marathon are making a list and checking it twice.

The village is crafting a final slate of recommended projects to fund with the $4.5 million NY Forward Grant.

Marathon Mayor Scott Chamberlin said state officials in Albany will ultimately narrow down the list.

“They want to have a surplus of projects that they can look at and determine which ones go forward,” he said.

In July, Chamberlin said housing projects, eating establishments, and athletic fields were being considered.
