ELMIRA, NY (607NewsNow) — A convicted sex offender faces a new charge.

The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy tried doing an address verification in January for Eric Barnes in Horseheads but discovered the 34-year-old hadn’t lived there in over two years.

Barnes, who’s a level two offender, was located and charged with felony failure to notify the New York State Division of Criminal Services of a change of information within the required time frame.
