Nichols man charged in 2024 Berkshire fires

NICHOLS, NY (607NewsNow) — A Nichols man is accused of settling several fires. 

The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office says Benjamin McCluhan is responsible for structure fires in November and December 2024 in the town of Berkshire.

Deputies say the 34-year-old was arrested last month in Alabama after a 12-month investigation. McCluhan was indicted by a grand jury on numerous felony charges, including four counts of arson and two counts of insurance fraud. 

He’s being held in the Tioga County jail on $30,000 cash bail.
