DRYDEN, NY (607NewsNow) – Misuse of an appliance caused a fire at TC3.

On October 8, firefighters responded to a reported fire in a laundry room at a campus dormitory.

According to Neptune Hose Company #1 of Dryden Inc., a student overloaded a washing machine, which caused the belt and motor to ignite, creating “considerable smoke.”

No injuries were reported.
