LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) – There will be no public hearing on a proposed development moratorium at next week’s Town Board meeting in Lansing.

On November 13, town officials released the following statement in regard to the upcoming Town Board meeting on November 19.

The Lansing Town Board will not be holding a public hearing on the proposed moratorium at the November 19th Town Board meeting. As the Board has worked through the process of considering the proposed draft law for the moratorium, we have realized that we need more time to solicit and consider input from our partners in the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Zoning Advisory Committee. The Town Board will be reconsidering the resolution withdrawing the proposed moratorium (Local Law #7 of 2025) which was presented at the November 5, 2025, meeting. Because the November 19 meeting will no longer have a public hearing component, we will be holding the meeting at Town Hall, 29 Auburn Road, Lansing, NY. The Town Board appreciates the public’s patience as we consider how best to accomplish the necessary rewrites to the current, outdated zoning law.

In related news, the Town of Lansing is accepting applications for vacancies on the Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Conservation Advisory Council.
