BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) – A Binghamton man is accused of injuring someone with a baseball bat.

On April 24, State Police were called to Endicott around 2 p.m. for a report of a dispute with an injury.

James Lewis, 46, allegedly waited for another man on Carl Street and struck him several times with a bat when he arrived on an E-bike. Lewis fled the scene on the bike. Troopers say the two previously agreed to trade E-bikes, with the victim expected to pay Lewis additional money that he never paid.

The 48-year-old victim from Binghamton was transported to UHS Wilson Medical Center for treatment. He underwent surgery and is listed in stable condition.

Investigators located and arrested Lewis in Johnson City on April 25. He is charged with robbery and assault, both felonies.
