Officials: Flooding causes road closures in Lansing

LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) — Drivers are being advised to avoid some roads.

In Lansing, the Tompkins County Highway Department says Locke Road between West Road and the county line is closed because of flooding. Officials say it will stay closed until water damage is evaluated and the road is deemed safe.

In addition, Algerine Road is closed between Lansing Station and Ludlow Roads. Officials add Lockerby Hill Road between Lansingville Road and Salmon Creek Road sustained heavy damage because of flooding from Tuesday’s storm.

The Tompkins County Highway Department suggests drivers find alternate routes until those roads can re-open.
