One injured in crash on State Route 41 in Homer

HOMER, NY (607NewsNow) – A Syracuse man is injured after a crash in Homer.

On January 22, members of the Homer Fire Department were called to State Route 41 around 8:15 a.m. for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.

When units arrived, they found a man trapped in a rental van. A local nurse who happened to be traveling in the area was providing patient care.

According to State Police, the driver, Kavion Rufus, was driving at an unsafe speed when he left the roadway and struck a telephone pole.

The 22-year-old Rufus was transported to Upstate University Hospital. An update on his condition has not been shared.
