Public meetings set for Tompkins County traffic safety plan


ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — Four public meetings are coming up this month to address traffic safety in Tompkins County. 

The first is an online presentation on Wednesday night at 6 p.m. In-person meetings for the Joint Safety Action Plan, which includes several municipalities across the county, kick off next Friday at Newfield Old Home Days from 4-9 p.m., the Ithaca Farmers Market on July 27th from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Pavilion, and lastly the Trumansburg Farmers Market on Wednesday, July 31 from 4-7 p.m.

According to county officials, the Joint Safety Action Plan “will provide recommendations and strategies to improve safety at identified locations and help eliminate deaths and serious injuries throughout the region. The goal is to help make Tompkins County safer for all road users including people who drive, walk, bike, or ride transit.”
