Seneca Falls man charged in alleged NYE threat

SENECA FALLS, NY (607NewsNow) – A Seneca Falls man is facing charges after allegedly making threats to the public.

On December 31, Mekhi Russ allegedly posted threats on social media around 2:30 a.m., claiming he intended to harm attendees of the local New Year’s Eve celebration.

The 24-year-old was in police custody by 7:30 a.m. According to Seneca Falls PD, Russ also attempted to pressure a witness in a separate, ongoing criminal matter. Police found there was no credible threat to public safety.

Russ is charged with intimidating a victim or witness and making a terroristic threat, both felonies.
