WAVERLY, NY (607NewsNow) – The cause of a fire in the Village of Waverly is under investigation.

On August 10, crews from multiple agencies were called to a five-apartment home on Chemung Street just before 7 p.m. after a fire broke out.

Officials with the J.E. Hallet Fire Company of the Waverly-Barton Fire District say they arrived to find heavy fire conditions in a second-floor apartment, stairwell, and attic. The blaze was knocked down quickly, but the second floor was significantly damaged.

No one was injured, but several residents have been displaced, according to WENY-TV.
