LANSING, NY (607NewsNow) — A Tompkins County legislator backs regime change in Iran.

In a Facebook post Monday, Legislator Mike Sigler expressed support for an overthrow of Iran’s current government, saying it could “remake the Middle East and US relationships there.”

“l support the overthrow of the current regime which has been the number one supporter of terror in the world,” Sigler said.

Roughly 2,000 protesters have reportedly been killed since an outbreak of nationwide protests in Iran began late last month.
