Springport man charged in sexual abuse investigation

SPRINGPORT, NY (607NewsNow) – A Cayuga County man is accused of sexually abusing a child under the age of 11.

On August 29, 63-year-old Craig Gilmore, of Springport, was arrested after a week-long investigation into the abuse of a minor.

Gilmore is charged with course of sexual conduct against a child and sex abuse, both felonies. He’s being held in Cayuga County Jail without bail.

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing and asks anyone with relevant information or who may have had similar interactions with Gilmore to come forward.
