SYRACUSE, NY (607NewsNow) — Former SUNY Cortland head football coach Curt Fitzpatrick is receiving praise from a competitor.

Fitzpatrick now leads the football program at Colgate. On Friday, Colgate will play Syracuse at 7 p.m. at the JMA Wireless Dome.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Syracuse Head Football Coach Fran Brown called Fitzpatrick a “real good dude.” He also said there were discussions about bringing Fitzpatrick on board the ‘Cuse coaching staff before the head coaching position at Colgate opened up.

“I just thought he did a really good job when he was at Cortland,” Brown said.
